My Favourite Single Eyeshadows

While I do have a soft spot for smaller palettes in terms of everyday use, I generally only reach for a few shades within a palette and spend a lot of time thinking of what shades work work better. Naturally, it makes sense that I would buy a couple singles to create the perfect palette but looking back at my favourites, I pretty much have all the mattes down but still rely on my palettes for shimmer. Not a big deal, given that I gravitate towards matte looks most of the time anyway unless it’s the MAC Frost formula. If you are a fellow reddish brown eyeshadow lover, let me run you through some of my favourites. Continue reading “My Favourite Single Eyeshadows”

Pillow Talk Smokey Eye Look

It’s no secret I have a bit of an obsession with red brown eyeshdows and there are certainly a few in my collection starting with Nars Dolomites, pretty much all the eyeshadow palettes and a few singles I own. Now I previously discussed the Charlotte Tilbury Pillow Talk Eye Palette here and featured more of the pinky beige look but seeing as the palette has now been restocked, I wanted to test if you could create a more smokey look. This whole idea perhaps came about because of the recent Julianne Moore cover for The Rake and while this isn’t a recreation, it’s pretty much reminded me to smoke out my lower lash line more often because she looked absolutely stunning. Rolling Project Pan Update #2

To be completely honest, I have frequent mood swings in regards to this project and frankly, I just wish you’d see progress on powder products quicker but looking back at the three months of formal project panning, I definitely played with makeup more than I have for a while. Some discoveries have been made in that I’ve been quite successful panning lipsticks and pencil products, don’t mind using the same eyeshadow despite minimal progress but struggle quite a bit with face products so I will probably keep those to a minimum from now on (says while she rolls in a baked blush). Mac In Monochrome Velvet Teddy Look

It’s no surprise I was all over Mac in Monochrome collection since I’m not exactly keen on colour blocking and to be honest, I tend to go for a monochrome look most of the time anyway. No surprise, the colour I picked was Velvet Teddy seeing as I’m already a big fan of the lipstick shade but the blusher that comes along with the Diva collection is equally as tempting. I pretty much picked this up blindly without having even swatched the shades or having seen any swatches before but luckily they turned out to be exactly what you would except of the Velvet Teddy colour family. Rolling Project Pan Update

It’s been over a month since I officially committed to my first Project Pan and I’ve already got things to report. I’ve learnt that I am impatient after all but also rediscovered some product loves. Seeing I have finished or decided to declutter some of the products, I figured an update was due. Not entirely sure if rolling out a majority of the products is a good start but I suppose it’s my inexperience with project panning that made me pick products that weren’t necessarily feasible for me to use up and at least enjoy using.
